A massive yacht hub just opened in Fort Myers, Florida. The sprawling 23-acre site at 14030 McGregor Boulevard now houses MarineMax's latest 30,000-square-foot sales and service center.

"This facility significantly enhances our capabilities," Brett McGill, President and CEO of MarineMax, said in a statement, according to Business Observer.

The site boasts storage for hundreds of vessels - 276 spots in racks and 128 spaces in the water. Giant 40-foot bays and heavy-duty equipment can handle boats up to 75 tons.

Yet this expansion comes during shaky times. The Oldsmar company's latest numbers show trouble - revenue sank 13.3% to $657.2 million in the quarter ending June 30, compared to last year.

The picture looks worse at older stores. Sales dropped 9% over three months as buyers kept their wallets closed.

MarineMax's reach stretches far, with over 120 spots worldwide. Their network includes 70-plus dealerships and 65 places to dock and store boats.

The company's roots trace back to Clearwater, though they later moved their base to Oldsmar. This Fort Myers site marks their newest push into Southwest Florida's coastal market.
