The 28th Annual Community Harvest promotion is now in full swing, which allows diners to support Suncoast Charities for Children as well as other local and statewide charities in Florida. The program runs through September and is a simple way for people to donate while dining.

Patrons who dine at a participating restaurant will choose a charity using a ballot. The participating restaurants will donate 5% of the total bill in the form of a gift certificate to the selected charity. This contribution comes at no additional cost to diners.

This undertaking has the backing of the 1905 Family of Restaurants, which includes familiar names like the Columbia Restaurant, Cha Cha Coconuts, Ulele, and Casa Santo Stefano. These community-loved locations give community members great dining options and the chance to support great causes.

Suncoast Charities for Children provides funding to seven local non-profit organizations that serve over 8,000 individuals and families in the community. These organizations focus on enhancing the lives of children, teens, and adults with special needs.

“Suncoast Charities for Children is where fun meets philanthropy here on the Suncoast,” said Executive Director Lucy Nicandri, according to WWSB.

Since its start 27 years ago, the Community Harvest program has generated a total of $4.4 million for non-profit organizations across Florida. This long-running tradition continues to have a significant impact on communities statewide.
