Next month, job seekers can meet with companies at two local fairs set up by Better Together. The nonprofit picked spots in Cape Coral and Fort Myers for these October events.

Grace Church in Cape Coral opens its doors on Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This fair focuses on workers with past jail time, no fixed home, or gaps between jobs. It's about fresh starts.

Fort Myers hosts an event on Oct. 21 at Riverside Church. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., job coaches will be ready to help with resumes and give tips.

The Cape Coral event has drawn big names. The city government signed up, along with AWP Safety and the Post Office. In Fort Myers, job hunters can talk to employers from locations, including Hertz, VITAS Healthcare, and Waste Pro.

Workers can get tips from CareerSource Southwest Florida, check out classes at Florida Gulf Coast University, or learn about training at Goodwill. Cape Coral's fair adds special help for veterans and legal matters through Lee County.

Better Together has helped 45,600 workers across 24 states find work through their "Better Jobs" program. Just this year, 2,600 people had interviews or job offers.

The group steps in to stop kids from needing foster care by getting their parents back to work, with 98% of kids staying with their families thanks to Better Together's help during rough patches. They do it all with volunteers and gifts from donors.

Sign up for the Cape Coral event or the Fort Myers event online, or text JOBS to 844-987-3949 for either fair.

Find Grace Church at 13 S.E. 21st Place in Cape Coral. Riverside Church is located at 8660 Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers.
