A surge of travelers moved through Southwest Florida International Airport last month. The count hit 647,917 people in August 2025, breaking the facility's previous August record in its four-decade history. The numbers increased 5% from last year.

At the Fort Myers hub, Delta Airlines topped the charts by moving 152,803 flyers. Southwest carried 107,919 people through the skies, while American moved 97,808. United flew 95,540 passengers, and JetBlue transported 70,952.

Planes took off and touched down 6,013 times in August, an 11% boost from 2024. Yet the yearly passenger total slipped a tiny fraction, down just 0.3%.

The smaller Page Field airport saw activity drop. Its 12,323 flights marked a 5% fall from the prior August.

Last year's success pushed the airport into elite company. With over 11 million passengers in 2024, it ranked among America's 50 most active air hubs.
