Beginning Oct. 1, work crews will add lanes between Danport Boulevard and Powers Court/Apaloosa Lane, implementing a traffic shift to the outer lanes.
The construction teams need space to build new inner lanes. Speed limits have been lowered to 35 mph, and bike paths have been blocked. Cyclists must find other routes during the construction.
This traffic shift will last about 12 months. It's a key step in connecting Alico Road to Daniels Parkway through the Three Oaks extension work.
When finished, eight lanes will stretch from Danport Boulevard to Powers Court/Apaloosa Lane. The full project should end in spring 2028, bringing big changes to local traffic flow.
This project is separate from the I-75 work at Daniels Parkway.
