At gun shows across Florida, buyers rush to snag deals during the state's first Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday. The tax break runs through Dec. 31.

"Sales have been great. Governor DeSantis gave guns tax-free holiday to the end of the year. So everybody's super stoked about that," said Florida Gun Show General Manager Robert Geisler, according to Fox 4 News.

Beginning Sept. 8, 2025, shoppers don't have to pay taxes on guns, ammo, or shooting supplies. The break covers basic items like holsters and sights. Cleaning kits and grips also make the list.

The tax holiday is part of a bigger $2 billion tax cut plan for 2025-26.

Ron DeSantis spoke about the program in Plant City. "We're committed to helping Floridians keep more of their hard-earned money, and the Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday is one way to do that," DeSantis said.

Shows are attracting a new audience this year. "Our number one growing demographic is definitely black women, 100% women in general, African American women, black women, are our number one demographic growing right now," Geisler said.

In honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 9, vets get free range passes. The Fort Myers show returns on Dec. 13, providing another opportunity to take advantage of the Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday.
