Workers will begin $544,000 of repairs on three Del Prado Boulevard bridges in Cape Coral. The project is exptected to begin in November.

Southern Road & Bridge LLC won the bid for repairs. Their team will fix two bridges crossing the Lido Canal and one over the Plato Canal in southeast Cape Coral.

"We are always concerned about the safety. I don't want to be one of those people with a bridge collapses and I'm on it," a resident said, according to Gulf Coast News.

The project includes patching broken concrete, sealing cracks in the structure, and adding shields to protect support posts. Money comes straight from the county's transportation capital improvement budget.

While locals expect some slowdowns, they support the work. "In terms of traffic, tons of traffic will make it through that. For the safety of everybody will get along," said another local to Gulf Coast News.

Starting next month, watch for construction signs. The county hasn't set exact dates for lane shutdowns yet.
