Most Lee County offices will shut down on Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.
Community Development offices won't answer phones or open their permitting lobby. Contractors can still submit work through the electronic portal while offices remain closed.
Lee County Domestic Animal Services at 5600 Banner Drive in Fort Myers will be closed all day. Normal hours return on Nov. 12.
Parks and Recreation offices, along with recreation centers, will be closed on Nov. 11. They'll reopen the next day. But parks, beaches, boat ramps, pools, and preserves will remain open. As a reminder, there is no alcohol allowed in county parks.
Solid Waste offices won't operate on Nov. 11. That includes the Household Chemical Waste Collection Facility at 6441 Topaz Court in Fort Myers. However, the Resource Recovery Facility on Buckingham Road will remain accessible, and so will the Lee/Hendry Regional Solid Waste Disposal Facility.
Garbage, recycling, and waste collection in the city of Bonita Springs, village of Estero, and town of Fort Myers Beach will be unaffected. Put your bins out on the regular day.
LeeTran bus, trolley, and paratransit services run normal schedules throughout the holiday. Route schedules and maps can be found on their official website.
The Midpoint Bridge closes Nov. 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. The Midpoint Madness Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk takes over during those hours. Drivers should take the Cape Coral Bridge or U.S. 41 and Business 41 bridges instead.
