Two grocery stores will open on Nov. 20 in Golden Gate Estates. They'll sit about 2.5 miles from each other. A Publix supermarket opens inside the Shoppes at Orange Blossom on Oil Well Road, while an Aldi store opens at The Randall at Orangetree on Immokalee Road.

The Publix at 1715 Oil Well Road kicks off with a celebration at 7 a.m. on Nov. 20. Aldi offers a preview day on Nov. 19, then holds its ribbon-cutting ceremony and official opening at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 20.

The first 100 customers at Aldi get a free eco-friendly bag packed with products and a golden ticket worth up to $100. This new Aldi at 13725 Immokalee Road becomes the fifth in Collier County.

Golden Gate Estates already has one Publix. That first location opened in early 2017 at the Neighborhood Shoppes at Orangetree, almost across the street from where this new Aldi will be.

Both stores anchor new retail centers built for Estates residents. The developments add to commercial and residential growth east of Collier Boulevard. Apartment complexes are under construction at both sites.

Publix becomes the first business to open inside The Shoppes at Orange Blossom. WMG Development constructed the center on former citrus groves between Palmetto Ridge High School and The Ranch at Orange Blossom gated community.

The development contains nearly 90,000 square feet of commercial space, plus 384 apartment units. The retail center will include a Publix Liquors store, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Wingstop, Great Clips, The UPS Store, and Encore Nails salon. Most businesses should open in early 2026.

"They'll deliver the space to the tenants to start their buildout right when Publix opens, so I believe it's the last week of this month they'll start delivering those spaces to tenants," said Bob Pekol, senior associate for LQ Commercial real estate services, according to Gulf Shore Business.

A Fifth Third Bank outparcel is also under construction in the parking lot. WMG will start work soon on outparcel lots for at least six businesses along Oil Well Road — a Circle K convenience store, Starbucks, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Mavis Tires & Brakes.

The Randall at Orangetree already has 7-Eleven, AutoZone, McDonald's, and Sunshine Ace Hardware open. Chase Bank and Brickyard Car Wash should open soon. Preliminary plans have been filed for the first area location of Christian Brothers Automotive.

Four commercial lots remain available through Trinity Commercial Group for sale or ground lease.
