Lee County commissioners voted Tuesday to award a contract for work at the Treeline Avenue and Daniels Parkway intersection. Changes will add a second northbound right-turn lane.
Workers will convert one northbound left-turn lane from Treeline Avenue onto Daniels Parkway into a through lane. One northbound through lane becomes a second northbound right-turn lane.
Officials will make Americans with Disabilities Act improvements at both the Daniels Parkway/Treeline Avenue and the Treeline Avenue/Intercom Lane intersections. Signal upgrades are part of the plan.
Studies showed that the three existing northbound left-turn lanes get little use because traffic patterns have changed. This shift happened after crews built the Southwest Florida International Airport Direct Connect from Interstate 75 to Terminal Access Road. That construction wrapped up 10 years ago.
Work starts in April 2026. It should finish by September 2026. The county said crews will work at night to keep disruptions small.
