Publix plans to build a second store at Babcock Ranch. Construction starts in early 2026. The 55,000-square-foot shop will anchor MidTown Marketplace, a new development on Cypress Parkway.
The chain launched its first location in the Florida town back in 2021. That store sits at Crescent B Commons, which has grown into the main shopping area for residents.
This new location will showcase one of Publix's latest designs with more food choices. Customers can grab fresh pizza, ramen, sushi, or acai bowls from the prepared foods area. A full-service seafood counter and scratch bakery will make artisan breads and custom cakes on-site.
Pours beverage bar will serve smoothies, coffee, wine, and beer. Cafe-style seating lets people relax while they sip. The store will also have an expanded deli, artisan cheese selection, and a larger wine and beer section, plus a pharmacy and health area.
A separate Publix Liquors will stand beside the main building with its own entrance.
"Publix has been an incredible partner in the growth of Babcock Ranch," said Syd Kitson, chairman and CEO of Kitson & Partners, the developer of the town, according to Cape Coral Breeze. "As our town continues to expand, this new Publix store represents the next chapter in meeting the needs of our residents and the greater community."
Kitson & Partners has guided the planned town since it started, overseeing homes, parks, and shops across Babcock Ranch.
MidTown Marketplace will span 140,000 square feet when finished. The project mixes shops, restaurants, and living spaces that are walkable to nearby neighborhoods.
