Southwest Florida International Airport will introduce four seasonal routes in spring 2026. Flights will connect the airport with Austin, Long Island, Buffalo, and Indianapolis.

Southwest Airlines will kick off Saturday-only flights from Austin on March 7. JetBlue and Frontier Airlines will handle the remaining three cities.

Southwest announced the Austin connection back in August. The carrier plans Saturday-only departures aimed at spring break travelers seeking warmer weather. American Airlines had previously flown this path but discontinued it in 2024, leaving no nonstop option.

JetBlue plans two additions. Flights from Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, New York, will run three times each week between Dec. 18 and April 28, 2026. The Buffalo route launches on March 26, 2026, with the same schedule.

Frontier Airlines will service Indianapolis International Airport beginning March 27, 2026. The timing targets families planning spring getaways.

All four announcements came within weeks of each other.
