Lee County has shared its holiday schedule. Most administrative offices will shut down on Dec. 25, Dec. 26, Dec. 31, and Jan. 1. Trash collection, bus service, pools, and other county operations will see changes during this period.
Collection Services
Garbage, recycling, and yard waste pickups will run as usual on Wednesday, Dec. 24. No collections on Thursday, Dec. 25. Thursday's routes shift to Friday, while Friday's routes move to Saturday.
Solid Waste offices close Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26. The Resource Recovery Facility in Buckingham and the Lee-Hendry Landfill will operate during their standard hours on Wednesday, Dec. 24, but will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25.
The same pattern repeats for New Year's. Collections continue as scheduled on Wednesday, Dec. 31, with no pickups on Thursday, Jan. 1.
Transportation
LeeTran will run its scheduled bus service on Wednesday, Dec. 24. No bus, trolley, beach tram, ADA Passport, or ULTRA on-demand services on Thursday, Dec. 25. Service resumes Friday, Dec. 26.
Recreational
Beaches, boat ramps, parks, and preserves stay open Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26. Pools are closed Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26, returning to standard operating hours on Saturday, Dec. 27.
Four recreation centers in North Fort Myers, Veterans, Wa-Ke Hatchee, and Estero will be closed from Dec. 22 to Jan. 4 for scheduled annual maintenance. They reopen Monday, Jan. 5.
All library branches close Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25. Standard hours of operation return Friday, Dec. 26.
Other
The Lost and Found Pet Center and the Pet Adoption Center will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26. Standard hours return Saturday, Dec. 27, at 5600 Banner Drive in Fort Myers.
The Community Development office, which includes first- and second-floor lobbies and telephone services, will close from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18. The application portal stays open during this time. Offices shut down on Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26, and again on Thursday, Jan. 1, and Friday, Jan. 2.
The Call Center and the drive-thru window at 7391 College Parkway are closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26, Thursday, Jan. 1, and Friday, Jan. 2. Payments can be made at any time online or by calling 1-855-895-6939.
