Southwest Florida International Airport unveiled Shula Burger in Concourse B last week. The new eatery joins a growing menu of food choices at the Fort Myers facility, taking over what used to be a Burger King near Gate 3.
Airport officials announced the opening through Facebook on Nov. 25, 2025. Shula Burger whips up shakes and stands as the sole ice cream vendor at RSW.
This addition stems from the Terminal Expansion Project, which is designed to bring travelers new shopping venues and dining spots. In July, a Starbucks opened on Concourse B. Fort Myers Brewing Co. and Seaside Mercantile both opened in 2024.
Three more eateries will open soon, joining Starbucks and Shula Burger — Popeyes, Key Lime Bistro, and either Doc Ford's or Boat House.
Plans show even more businesses coming later. Sanibel Market, Ford's Garage, Gulf Coast Provisions, and Air Margaritaville will expand the airport's roster.
The main terminal now has three dining spots: two Dunkin' locations, Jose Cuervo Tequileria, and Dylan's Candy Bar. Concourse B offers Beaches Boardwalk Cafe, Great American Bagel, Shula Burger, and Starbucks.
Concourse C features Dewar's Clubhouse, Sbarro, Great American Bagel, and Starbucks. At Concourse D, travelers can visit Great American Bagel, Fort Myers Brewing, and Starbucks.
The expansion includes building Concourse E. Once complete, new TSA security checkpoints will allow passengers to travel between concourses. Officials expect the first phase to wrap up within three years.
