Disco Bean, located in Bonita Springs and offering specialty coffee and retro disco energy, is an exceptional venue. Unlike other cafes, Disco Bean focuses on experiential culture by combining specialty coffees with vinyl culture, creating an environment similar to that of a dance floor. Features at Disco Bean include Colombian coffee, pastries from local coffee makers in the Southwest Florida area, handcrafted ice cream, and an extensive vinyl collection of albums priced between $1 and $100, appealing to both casual music lovers and seasoned collectors alike.
Founder Patty Amandis, also known as DJ Pat Pat, built the concept from lifelong ties to coffee, music, and family-run café traditions. “I've been around coffee and music my whole life. My family and I owned a Cuban café in East Naples and sold Cuban coffee,” Amandis said. The name and atmosphere were chosen for universal appeal. “Everyone can relate to the word disco,” Amandis said.
Disco Bean is intentionally designed to shift moods throughout the day. The establishment works to maintain a family-friendly environment during the day and a disco atmosphere in the evenings with a strong focus on vinyl, DJ culture, and socializing. This allows the venue to be appealing to different groups of people during different times of the day while staying within one location.
Inside the venue, there is a well-curated vintage style featuring items such as vintage-style speakers, vinyl-themed decor, a DJ table, and arguably the most unique feature: a bathroom with walls full of vinyl records. “I travel all around the world and wanted to create a bathroom that made people stop and look,” Amandis said.
Community storytelling is central to the space. Many of the speakers and decorative pieces were sourced locally or shared by families in the area. “I spent seven months collecting these speakers and vintage items on the walls. Some are from my family, others tell the story of other families,” Amandis said.
Disco Bean operates morning hours throughout the week, with extended late-night service on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to midnight. With its blend of coffee culture, music, and community heritage, the shop aims to create a socially connected space that evolves throughout the day while remaining true to the individual and local histories.
