Lee County Parks & Recreation has announced that registration for its 2026 summer camp programs will open on Monday, March 23, marking a change from the department’s previous schedule of opening sign-ups in late February. The later date is intended to give families more time to explore camp options and prepare for the summer season.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. and typically attracts thousands of participants across a range of programs, including traditional day camps, middle school camps, and specialty offerings.

Traditional camps are available for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade, while middle school camps serve students in sixth through eighth grades. Specialty and special needs camps vary by age and location, and families are encouraged to confirm details directly with individual sites.

The seven-week summer camp season runs from June 15 through July 31. Camp fees are $85 per child, per week. A full list of camp locations and offerings is available at leeparks.org. Registration remains open as long as space is available, though early sign-up is strongly encouraged.

Parents registering at one of the county’s four large recreation centers—Estero, North Fort Myers, Wa-Ke Hatchee, or Veterans Park in Lehigh Acres—must first obtain or confirm an active facility membership. Online registration requires a household account through the county’s WebTrac system.

Registration for swimming lessons and other aquatic programs opens Wednesday, March 26.

Throughout the summer, camp sites will participate in countywide initiatives focused on service learning, fitness and wellness, and National Park and Recreation Month.
